Wimblington here we come!

Thanks to our tour-manager, Julia, we have now secured an invite to perform at Wimblington Methodist Church on Friday 27th July so the mini-tour is properly taking shape and the hotel has been booked for two nights in Kings Lynn!

We'll be leaving Loughborough on Friday morning in a mini-bus with our designated driver, Charles.  We'll have a lunch stop along the way before checking in to our accommodation in Kings Lynn and then we'll set off to entertain the good people of Wimblington.

Saturday will see us heading off to Cromer early in the morning so that we can have some fun at the seaside before rolling up at Cromer Methodist for a rehearsal and tea which we have just found out is being provided for us!  We're looking forward to donning the little black dresses for the Saturday Night gig and looking forward to meeting up with Rev. Sharon Willimott who we know well from her time in Loughborough.

Sunday will be another earlyish start as we head to Kings Lynn Methodist to give them almost a full day's worth of our company.

So, it really is a whistle-stop mini-tour but it should be so much fun.

Next we're sorting out our Enchanted hoodies which Caroline intends should have our revised tour names on the back:

Anna Banana
Jolly Holly
Tippy-toes Rose
Crazie Maisie
No Malice Alice
Livvy Livster

Whether we agree to that remains to be seen - watch this space ;-)

Back in the Sing

It was good to be back at rehearsals again on Saturday. We had a short (ish) rehearsal inwhich we started to learn a new piece - a version of The Lord is My Shepherd - and then we all went off to Prestwold for a 1pm wedding.

There was some good hearty hymn singing stiffened by Caroline, Alyn and Ruth on the back row and then Enchanted sang Gaelic Blessing (affectionately called Garlic Dressing) and O Lovely Peace during the signing of the register.  We even got a clap which was rather nice!

We're still hoping to find another venue for a concert in the Lincolnshire / Norfolk border area but nothing has materialised yet.  We've made a couple of approaches but are disappointed not to have received replies as yet.  We may have to get our unofficial tour manager, Julia, on the job to chivvy them along by phone.

Menawhile, Ruth (guardian of the roses, jackets, folders and other random requirements that a young ladies' choir might need) is getting quotes for Enchanted hoodies and t-shirts - we love that kind of thing!

We spent some of Saturday working out everyone's tour names - not just the choir but the support team, too: Arty, Geeky, Scatty, Perfect, Dancer, Goth, Big Chief, Nimble Fingers, Keep Calm, King Pin, Runaround, Matron, Bearded Tenor, Peculiar ...  subject to revision and we leave you to guess who's who for now.

More rehearsals on Saturday with our next concert on June 30th with the Belvoir Wassailers. More on that next time.

Stay tuned folks!
